As the Health & Safety Manager, you will oversee occupational health and safety programs, analyze trends and ensure compliance with regulations to safeguard a mega project or all projects in a division. Your role involves providing technical expertise, conducting safety orientations and reviewing safety procedures. Collaborate with industry experts and committed teams to promote a safe working environment.ResponsibilitiesAssist in the implementation of the health & safety programs on the project, ensuring safety procedures are followed by the operations team and subcontractorsCollaborate with the health & safety program manager on ways to improve the health & safety programParticipate in senior management, stakeholders, and client executive meetings when availableManage the health and safety resources assigned to the projectLead investigations for all major incidents on the project with the support from the Health & Safety Program ManagerCoordinate with section managers, supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure corrective measures are taken promptlyEnsure competencies and on-the-spot task specific safety training are completed for workers on siteLiaise with regulatory bodies that engage in worksite visitsWork with project managers and supervision to address site-specific challenges and improve safety practicesEnsure task specific hazard assessments are completed, communicated, and followed, including confined space hazard assessments and location-specific fall protection plansQualificationsCRSP, CHSO or other professional HS&E designation or in the process of obtaining oneMinimum of 5 years of relevant health, safety and environment experience in a leadership roleMinimum of 10 years of experience in infrastructure, construction or related industry, with relevant health and safety experienceThorough knowledge of common commercial construction practices, techniques and equipmentKnowledgeable of local government health & safety acts, policies, regulations, codes and practices as they apply to constructionProficient with the MS Office suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)Able to influence work planning and execution by field/operations teams to achieve HS&E objectivesExcellent verbal, communication, project management and analytical skillsAbility to maintain discretion and confidentiality with sensitive informationAbility to work independently and as part of a cross-functional teamClass 5 driver’s license and clear driving recordWhy work for usSome of the benefits you may be eligible for as an employee are:Comprehensive compensation package and paid time off programIndustry leading 401(k)/RRSPMedical/Extended Health Care, Dental, Vision and provincial medicalWellness benefits & Employee Assistance ProgramTuition Reimbursement ProgramWe are an EEO/AA/ADA/Veterans employer.SalaryCAD $100,000.00/Yr. – CAD $120,000.00/Yr.Seniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionManagement and ManufacturingIndustries: Construction #J-18808-Ljbffr
