To support that growth, we’re seeking a Controller who can elevate our financial operations, strengthen forecasting and reporting, and partner with ownership to drive profitability at every level.OverviewThis is a hands-on leadership role for a Controller who thrives in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment. You’ll own the company’s accounting and financial systems, lead a small but capable finance team, and work closely with ownership and operations to ensure financial integrity and insight across all our restaurant locations.You’ll manage everything from financial reporting and budgeting to cashflow forecasting and variance analysis, while collaborating with our external accounting partners.ResponsibilitiesFinancial Leadership & StrategyLead all accounting and financial functions for Synergy Franchising and its restaurant entities.Oversee accurate and timely monthly financial statements, budgets, and cashflow forecasts.Partner with ownership and operations to create and maintain detailed profit-based forecasting models.Develop and execute financial strategies that support store-level and company-wide growth.Financial OperationsOverseefull-cycle accounting including AP, AR, cash management, and reconciliations (with support from our external partner and internal accounting team).Ensure efficient and accurate month-end and year-end closes.Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with financial policies and lender requirements.Oversee all bank reporting, covenant tracking, and cashflow planning.Review and analyze store-level performance metrics.Bonus calculations & admin.Reporting & AnalysisBuild variance analysis tools & reporting.Provide actionable insights that help improve store performance and profitability.Prepare executive-level financial packages and present findings to ownership.Process Improvement & SystemsIdentify opportunities for automation and standardization within accounting processes.Collaborate with accounting partner to ensure smooth integration between internal and external workflows.Update & maintain financial SOPs across stores and head office.Lead and mentor a small internal finance team.Create clarity in roles, accountability, and deliverables across the finance function.What You Bring7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including 3+ years in a senior accounting or controller role.Multi-unit or franchise experience ideal (restaurant, retail, or hospitality preferred).Strong understanding of cashflow forecasting, and management reporting.Advanced Excel skills with experience in financial modeling.Strong systems orientation and ability to optimize workflows.A proactive, “ownership” mindset — you see problems early and fix them fast.Why You’ll Love Working HereBe part of an ambitious, fast-growing organization.Work in a culture that values accountability, efficiency, and financial excellence.Competitive compensation, benefits, and performance-based bonus structure.Direct access to ownership and decision-making — your work truly moves the needle.The chance to modernize and lead finance operations for a multi-unit franchise industry leader.Job DetailsSeniority level: DirectorEmployment type: Full-timeJob function: Accounting/Auditing and FinanceIndustries: Restaurants #J-18808-Ljbffr
