HR Generalist

Under the direction of the Human Resources Manager, the HR Generalist will play a vital role in supporting the HR Department and ensuring the smooth operation of various HR functions. You will have the opportunity to contribute to recruitment efforts, assist with employee relations and workplace investigations, employee training and development, maintain accurate employee records, and provide support to all employees regarding HR-related inquiries. This position will be hybrid in nature with 3 days in the office. Responsibilities Assist managers with progressive discipline and counseling of employees via the Performance Improvement Action Plan process. Participate in the ongoing recruitment and retention initiative to increase branch capacity of all field employees. Schedule and arrange Orientation Sessions; conduct specific parts of the Orientation Session such as payroll, benefits, preparation of photo identification cards. Manage Workers Compensation claims documentation including filing reports, follow-up activities; develop modified work programs as requested. Participate in or lead the Health and Safety Program as directed by the HR Manager. Maintain employee human resources files ensuring all required documentation, including copies of current professional registration, probationary and annual performance reviews, supervisory reports and continuing education documentation. Maintain current knowledge of provincial legislation relating to Employment Standards, Human Rights, Workplace Health and Safety, and Labor laws; assist in handling real or suspected violations of legislated requirements. Participate in ongoing internal and external continuing education activities. Adhere to Bayshore Policies and Procedures. Participate in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company's Quality Management System. Maintain confidentiality of client and corporate information. Complete other tasks as requested. Qualifications Post Secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources or Industrial Relations. Minimum 4 years of progressive human resources experience in a fast-paced environment. CHRP/CHRL designation considered a strong asset. High degree of flexibility and ability to multi-task in a busy environment with excellent attention to detail. Demonstrated leadership and collaboration experience. Excellent communication skills. Experience with MS Office Suite and data management skills. Experience handling contentious matters with sensitivity, confidentiality and balance. Strong knowledge of human rights, employment equity, inclusivity and accessibility. Fluency in written and spoken English is required. Exact compensation will vary based on skills and experience.
