As a trusted advisor, you’ll provide expertise to empower Indigenous communities, organizations, businesses and individuals in navigating a dynamic social, political and economic environment.Our clients include various First Nations, Metis and Inuit communities as well as Indigenous organizations and associations across the country. We support our clients to develop strategic, business and operational plans that are thoughtful as much as engagement driven. Entrepreneurial to our core, our talented team members transcend obstacles into opportunities and are successfully transforming mid-market business practices.ResponsibilitiesOversee all aspects of full cycle accounting operations, including financial transactions and reportingCollaborate with clients, internal team members and relationship managers to ensure high-quality Indigenous EASE client engagementsMonitor and ensure the accuracy of financial transactions and reporting, including compliance with regulatory standardsCoordinate the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, including variance reportsSupport month-end and year-end closing processesPrepare and publish timely, accurate and compliant financial statements and related reportsAssist with new engagements by providing the required information for client setup and deliverable creationMaintain and update charts of accounts and prepare entries for posting to accountsPrepare correspondence, technical reports, client summaries and presentations outlining engagement findings, facts and highlightsDevelop and maintain effective working relationships with clients while coaching and mentoring junior team membersMaintain flexibility to travel to client sitesSkills And ExperienceCPA designation (CAFM designation considered an asset)Experience working with full-cycle accounting processesKnowledge of Sage 300, Sage Intacct, Adagio, Xyntax, QBO or Xero considered an assetExperience working with Indigenous communities or organizations preferredExtensive knowledge of GAAP, PSAS and IFRSUnderstanding of business, accounting, management and practice development principlesLocationVancouver IslandRewards and BenefitsWith a focus on high-potential earnings, MNP is proud to offer customized rewards that support our unique culture and a balanced lifestyle to thrive at work and outside of the office.
