Solutions Architect – Island Health Join to apply for the Solutions Architect role at Island Health. Reporting to the responsible Director, the Solutions Architect provides strategy, design and architecture of high quality and highly available clinical and business-oriented technologies. The Solutions Architect regularly works with Island Health Leadership, Corporate and Clinical Services, and cross-functional operational teams to inform and develop solutions supporting organizational strategic plans and goals. Qualifications A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in Computing Science, Information Management or a related discipline is required. At least five years’ experience working within or supporting a health care environment is preferred, including several years in a senior technology oversight or architecture role. ITIL training and experience required. Skills and Abilities Demonstrated success as a senior technical systems administrator or architect, and successful completion of large IT acquisition or design and build projects within last three years. Ability to write technical standards documents. Intermediate to expert-level system implementation, privacy and security standards and best practices skills. Ability to track, coordinate and integrate external issues as they affect Island Health's Strategic plans. Ability to evaluate contract documents such as RFPs, RFIs, RFQs, SOWs, etc. Ability to write, analyze and edit project plans, proposals, Service Level Agreements, MOUs for accuracy and consistency. Problem-solving ability with overall Island Health perspective in alignment with key strategic priorities. Ability to establish and manage relationships with internal and external strategic partners and solution providers. Ability to respond to the needs of internal stakeholders with acute awareness of impact of action. Ability to apply evidence-based framework to inform decision-making. Excellent presentation, interviewing, facilitating and negotiating skills. Physical ability to perform the duties of the job.
