BIM Lead

BIM Lead will play a crucial role in the implementation and management of Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes within the organization. This individual will lead a team of BIM technicians, ensuring the effective use of BIM technology (i.e. Revit, Navisworks, Clash Detection, etc.) and methodologies to enhance project delivery, collaboration, and efficiency. Symtech's safety culture is encouraged within the organization and promoted through demonstrating and communicating the importance of safety within the community where work is performed.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESLead and mentor a team of BIM technicians, providing guidance, training, and supportOversee the BIM workflow, ensuring that all team members are aligned and that the model is consistently updatedFoster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement in BIM practices within the organizationFacilitate communication between different stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and clients, to ensure everyone is on the same pageEnsure the accuracy and integrity of the BIM model, conducting regular reviews, and implementing necessary changesDevelop and enforce BIM standards, protocols, and guidelines to ensure consistency across projectsStay updated on the latest BIM softwares and methodologies, exploring ways to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in project deliveryOverall, a BIM Lead is pivotal in leveraging BIM to improve collaboration, efficiency, and project outcomesUtilize Revit and AutoCAD to develop Revit models and prepare drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, and other dataOversee projects and pursuits in the production of models along the analysis, creation, and management of building information Models (BIM) and 2D drawingsPrepare As built and Trimble point drawingUpdate BIM models and drawings based on As-built layoutCreate and modify parametric familiesPrepare detail drawings and sheets for Pre-fabricationPrepare Autodesk Revit drawings from sketches, mark‑ups, and design of electrical systemExamine drawings to minimize errors and make required alterations as necessaryCheck layouts of electrical and mechanical services for interferences with other components of the building such as structure, ceilings, millwork, etc.Liaise with the project team as required to implement necessary drafting requirementsMaintain familiarity with current modelling and drafting techniques and contribute to setting up and maintaining departmental BIM and CAD standardsDevelop various electrical system layouts in co‑ordination with the mechanical, structural, and architectural components of a buildingSet up Revit views for use by the REI project team including electronic document filing and all other facets of the electronic drawings and/or modelAbility to create Revit work sets and understanding of Revit work sharing processInput of marked‑up drawings into RevitCreation of minor mark‑ups and input of sameUnderstanding of 3D coordination with other tradesEXPERIENCE, SKILLS & KNOWLEDGEEducation consisting of arch/architectural design‑related education (diploma), computer drafting in AutoCAD and REVIT (diploma), electrical or mechanical technician or technologist (diploma), or related experience in RevitProficiency in current Revit software used by the departmentKnowledge of 2D plans (electronic/hard copy), Autodesk Navisworks, Autodesk Design Review, 3D layout, and designFamiliarity with MS Word, Excel, and document archiving standardsStrong problem‑solving, communication, organizational, and time‑management skillsAbility to create/manipulate Revit families, views, schedules, and other functionsKnowledge of REI confidentiality and intellectual property protectionExperience with plotters, printers, and importing documents into Revit projectsAbility to work independently, collaboratively, and manage a team effectively #J-18808-Ljbffr
