Your Role The mission of the Operations Manager is to bring their extensive manufacturing and leadership skillset to advance Pulsar Measurement’s vision of operational excellence in the manufacture of high quality, high performance measurement instrumentation. This leader manages the local manufacturing leadership team, scope covering manufacturing, quality, support, EH&S and their respective teams and functions. This is a critical strategic role for Pulsar Measurement with a high level of influence within the organization. Your responsibilities Provide hands‑on leadership to a manufacturing management team focused on developing and improving manufacturing processes, efficiencies, and overall throughput Lead team in adoption and implementation of lean manufacturing practices to drive towards a high performance, highly efficient business with a high level of employee engagement Liaise across departments including counterpart teams in the UK, inside sales and Customer service (both locally and in Florida), the R&D and Product Management teams and maintain strong communications with the Senior Leadership Team Manage manufacturing and support engineering deliverables, where tasked to do so, to keep the trains running on time and meet promise lead times and revenue targets Set and monitor operational KPIs and lead local managers to reinforce a culture of safe work practices, measuring performance and continuous operational improvement Value‑stream map the processes required for identifying gaps and waste Contribute to the effort to identify, investigate, recommend and implement equipment improvements and process systems changes that will improve quality of the finished product Drive projects to completion to provide a true economic return Improve and verify technical skill levels of all associates on the team Identify and address skill performance gaps within converting team Have an open mind with a questioning attitude to identify true root cause and implement countermeasure to eliminate failures Lead continuous improvement and quality systems compliance including ISO 9001, QAN/QAR, ISO 14001 and ISO 17025 Travel Travel is based on demand when conditions allow. Travel includes but is not limited to regions, factories, offices, customer locations and suppliers Your background You possess a passion and affinity for process automation and enjoy working within a team environment and serving internal customers. You come with strong experience in with manufacturing and engineering, working with data and executing continuous improvement projects to achieve the overall Pulsar Measurement growth objectives. 5+ years in a technical leadership role with an emphasis on Manufacturing and aligned to fostering a continuous development culture throughout the organisation Demonstrated success defining and collaborating with growth enabling manufacturing principles, to allow the best to double its size within 5 years A true “Team Player” who can work cross‑functionally to achieve results Ability to drive change and positively influence key stakeholders Ability to identify gaps and implement strategic change in an organized and systematic manner, with the ability to identify skills shortages and implement corrective action plans to develop staff, recruit A Players and build a high performing team Experience operating under ISO 9001 quality systems Our pledge Pulsar Measurement recognizes that an inclusive and diverse workplace, where all employees feel respected, valued, and able to achieve their full potential is vitally important.
