Overview Join to apply for the Cost Control Analyst role at Pomerleau. Location: Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. This role supports large-scale construction projects with budgets ranging from small to very large figures, within the Civil & Infrastructure team. Responsibilities Lead evaluation of monthly payment applications from project contractors, meet process timelines, and perform validations focusing on cash allowances and utilities. Liaise with field teams, project contractors, and the client; negotiate and resolve payment issues and escalate when appropriate. Develop and implement best practices and issue resolution using experience from other projects and external resources. Compile and provide cost data from monthly payment valuations to Project Controls, Finance, and Contract & Commercial to enable analysis, reporting, and change valuation. Expedite monthly commercial deliverables to ensure understanding of the project’s financial performance. Conduct monthly reviews of construction progress with field teams and validate monthly performance metrics with Project Controls. Attend key commercial and construction meetings, both internal and external. Undertake other project-related commercial and financial tasks as required. Analyze and ensure the integrity of monthly closing cost controls, including inter-divisional transactions. Collaborate on monitoring risks and opportunities and discuss major deviations with the Cost Control Manager and Regional Leadership. Report discrepancies or major problems identified during cost control reviews to the Cost Control Manager and Regional Leadership. Participate in developing new analysis tools and coordinate their implementation, including training users (e.g., dashboards). Assist in training new employees on cost control tools and procedures. Qualifications Minimum of 5+ years’ relevant experience as a Cost Control Analyst or in similar analyst roles. 5+ years of experience in cost analysis and resource planning. Previous experience in civil and infrastructure construction preferred. Proficiency in English (spoken and written) required to communicate with clients and team members. Experience in automated testing for quality assurance of cost reporting is an asset. Experience in training and mentoring on cost reporting and projections is an asset.
