This role is for a high-caliber communicator who thrives in movement building, understands the power of storytelling, and can translate complex impact into compelling human stories across earned, paid, and owned channels. Your Mission Amplify our global movement with clear, compelling, human-centered communications. You will own major narratives, build media relationships, guide creators, and ensure our brand voice remains bold, authentic, and indisputable across every touchpoint. Key Responsibilities Communications & Brand Voice Lead and own Plastic Bank’s external communications planning and creation. Ensure brand and messaging consistency across all teams and touchpoints. Conceptualize and produce fast-paced, movement-building digital campaigns. Translate impact into stories for web, social, events, and global partners. Position Plastic Bank’s leadership as go-to voices on poverty alleviation, social impact, circular economy, ESG, EPR, and plastic offsets. Supervise and guide external Content Creators / Video Editors (from Fiverr panels or internal freelancers). Uphold creative expectations consistent with Plastic Bank’s style: Compelling (stops the scroll) Edgy (breaks norms) Bold (confident and expressive) Emotional (human-centered) Movement-enabling (drives action) Work with creators to produce high-impact short-form and long-form content. Collaborate with the content engine (video editors, designers, writers) to produce unified storytelling. Digital Presence & Community Guide, manage, two Community Managers. Track SOV and sentiment; optimize communications based on performance data. Own and manage the digital asset library, ensuring all materials are classified, approved, and on-brand. Develop and update Plastic Bank’s website content in close partnership with product, tech, and brand teams. Media & External Advocacy Plan, write, and distribute press releases, media pitches, briefing docs, op-eds, and talking points. Execute crisis communication protocols with speed, clarity, and authenticity. Key Requirements 6+ years of hands-on (not just supervisory) communications experience (brand or agency). Native-level English proficiency with exceptional writing and editing skills. Fully conversant in using AI tools to increase speed, creativity, and output (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Midjourney, Descript, Runway). Experience guiding or supervising video production and design (AI-assisted preferred). Strong storytelling ability — able to switch between: Executive thought leadership voice Press release tone Video scripting Proven media relations experience with meaningful coverage wins. Highly organized, strategic, and comfortable presenting to senior leadership. Able to collaborate across time zones; must be available during Pacific Time (BC) working hours. Nice-to-Haves Experience in a global, multi-market organization or agency.
