Position Overview One Year Contract This position analyzes data to identify areas for cost and service improvement opportunities. Provides exceptional customer service while managing the transportation requirements for multiple customer accounts. Utilize transportation software to identify least cost routing and shipment consolidation. Coordinate daily activities to track and monitor delivery status and movement of goods. Communicate effectively with sites to optimize customer service and freight spend. Responsibilities Daily shipping schedule for carriers shipping from Cambridge warehouse and Offsite storage locations. Book appointments for customers as required. Act as key point of contact for carriers shipping from Cambridge warehouse. Monitors the shipments in transit and trouble‑shoots for any logistical issues to ensure that on‑time delivery metrics meet corporate targets. Reduction of incremental storage, demurrage and freight costs related to any service issues. Investigate late fines with carriers and provide information to Customer Supply Chain team to dispute any fines deemed to be invalid. Inbound appt scheduling - vendors, returns, etc. Coordinate schedule for hourly driver - i.e. CHEP transfers, Milton/Kitchener transfers, miscellaneous transfers (not including raw materials). Complete load tracking by carrier. Data entry on load summary sheets. Provide Proof of Delivery/Proof of Pickup documentation on request from Credit. Create return orders for invoiced but not shipped orders by Cambridge warehouse. Attend monthly carrier review meetings and provide any feedback on opportunities to improve service delivery. Backup for Logistics and Inventory Planner as required. Qualifications Up to two years of relevant experience, ideally in a consumer packaged goods/food industry environment. Relevant post‑secondary degree or diploma or equivalent experience, with an emphasis on Purchasing, Materials Management, Supply Chain, Logistics or Business. Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Power‑Point and Outlook). ERP system experience, preferably SAP. Strong problem‑solving ability. Good communications and teamwork/relationship‑building with internal/external contacts. Takes initiative, highly organized, strong attention to detail and ability to see the big picture.
