Responsibilities include performing MRI procedures for diagnostic purposes, assessing requisitions, obtaining pertinent history, screening patients for MRI safety and potential contrast reactions, providing patient care and monitoring, selecting techniques and positioning patients; post-processing acquired images, maintaining an MRI-safe environment and providing MRI safety education; practicing sterile techniques when required; and performing clerical duties related to patient care, including ensuring data accuracy and transfer to PACS.Hours of Work75 hours biweekly, plus rotational standby and callback.Your QualificationsGraduate of a recognized school of Medical Radiation Technology required with CAMRT certification in MRICurrent or eligible for registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT) required.Successful completion of a Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada Basic Life Support (BLS) Program in the last 12 months required or successful completion of a BLS Renewal Challenge Certificate required.Demonstrated ability to make independent technical decisions and work as part of an interdisciplinary team, requiredMust be willing to obtain continuing educationDemonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills requiredCompetencies in other languages an asset; French preferred.Thank you for your interest in IWK Health.
