Reporting to the Director, Strategic Sourcing & Sustainability, the Sustainability Analyst will play a critical role in advancing Polytainers sustainability initiatives. The roles primary responsibilities will include calculating and reducing the company’s carbon footprint, tracking sustainability projects, and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and standards. This role demands a keen analytical mindset, a strong understanding of sustainability practices, and the ability to effectively communicate findings and recommendations.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITES:

  1. Carbon Footprint Calculation and Reduction, including:
    • Measure and analyze the company’s carbon footprint across all operations, including production processes, supply chain, and product lifecycle.
    • Develop and implement strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and enhance overall environmental performance.
    • Monitor and report on progress toward carbon reduction targets and sustainability goals.
  2. Oversee and manage sustainability projects from initiation through to completion, ensuring they are on time, within scope, and on budget.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement best practices for sustainability projects.
  4. Prepare and present regular progress reports to stakeholders and senior management.
  5. Ensure the company adheres to all relevant environmental regulations, standards, and industry best practices.
  6. Prepare and submit accurate and timely compliance reports to regulatory bodies and certification organizations.
  7. Stay informed about changes in environmental regulations and standards and assess their impact on company operations.
  8. Collect, analyze, and interpret environmental data to provide insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.
  9. Develop and maintain comprehensive sustainability dashboards and reports for internal and external audiences.
  10. Provide data-driven insights to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  11. Identify opportunities for enhancing sustainability practices and processes within the company.
  12. Stay current with industry trends, laws & regulations, emerging technologies, and best practices in sustainability and environmental management.
  13. Perform other duties as reasonably requested and assigned.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, sustainability, engineering, or a related field.

Experience Requirements: 5+ years of relevant professional experience. Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment is a definite asset.

Additional Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Experience in sustainability analysis, carbon footprint calculations, and environmental compliance.
  • Project management experience with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Passion for sustainability and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple demands for results and decisions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Positive attitude with a keen interest in learning.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing sustainability challenges.
