Position Description The CAD Designer at Modine Manufacturing Company will be responsible for the development of data center thermal management product designs using current CAD technology to meet customer requirements in the most economical manner. This position may report to a Senior Designer, Senior Level Engineer, or Engineering Manager. The designer will provide 2D and 3D CAD modeling, detailed drawing documentation and advanced level design support for multiple projects at the same time. The candidate may communicate directly with the customer’s engineering and/or design team, Modine suppliers or Modine facilities. The designer will also be in charge of creating approval drawings, shop floor detailed drawings, bill of materials, uploading drawings to the PDM system and supporting the routing process. Key Responsibilities Train in Mechanical Design or a related technical discipline with 3‑5 years experience. Design experience with 3D modeling, preferably in Autocad (electrical) SolidEdge, IronCAD, or CREO. Experience in all aspects of computer modeling and drawing documentation with additional consideration to clarity of presentation and conformance to Standard Practices & Work Instructions. Advanced level of experience in 3D modeling and parametric design. Experience with sheet metal modeling and detailing. Ability to design and detail electromechanical drawings from sketches with limited information. Experience in handling 3D large model assemblies. Advanced ability in use of computer applications such as text documents, e‑mail, scheduling, Bill of Materials and routings. Required Education & Qualifications Proficiency in design activity with consideration to clearances, component fit and function, ease of manufacturing, safety, customer needs and expectations. Familiarity with design requirements, tooling, manufacturing and assembly operations of multiple product lines. Ability to write CR and perform drawing modifications in order to accommodate production needs. Resolve design problems independently. Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously. Knowledge of Data Center Thermal Management Systems and its components will be considered an asset. Modine is an equal opportunity employer.
