OverviewWe are seeking a Mental Health Worker for the Calgary Police Youth Foundation Integrated School Support Program (ISSP). The role provides one-on-one support to students and may engage in targeted groups, with responsibilities including engagement, data collection, assessment for case planning, intervention, evaluation, and program design.The position focuses on emotional support regarding current and/or specific problems in the emotional and social/relationship domain, providing information and advice, and supporting skill-building in self-regulation, positive well-being, healthy living, relationships, stress management, problem solving, decision making, crisis management, and conflict resolution. Training required includes ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) and VTRA (Violence Threat Risk Assessment).Location details, contract type, and duration are described below. This involves engagement, data collection, general assessment for case planning, intervention, evaluation, and program design. The role includes providing emotional support, information and advice, and supporting skill-building in self-regulation, well-being, healthy living, relationships, stress management, and crisis management.About the ProgramThis position is part of the Calgary Police Youth Foundation Integrated School Support Program (ISSP), whose objective is to provide wraparound school supports essential to address child wellness initiatives in diverse schools and communities. Multidisciplinary teams provide on-site mental health support, and other supports to ensure a safe, healthy school experience that supports learning.About Grasslands Public SchoolsGrasslands is a public school division serving Brooks and the surrounding area, with multiple locations. Our values include Collaboration, Integrity, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Wellness & Resilience, Engagement, Innovation, Accountability, and Transparency.Job DutiesProvide assessment, consultation, and treatment services to students.Determine special education eligibility and recommend programming strategies/placements.Provide reports and documentation of psychological assessments.Maintain contact notes and document communication with parents, school staff, and community agencies.Act as case coordinator and communicate with teachers and school staff regarding student needs and outcomes.Meet with parents/guardians regarding informed consent and updates on services; disclose major concerns and provide resources.Coordinate referrals with community agencies and advocate for student needs.Stay up to date on current approaches for managing student difficulties.Assist personnel with strategies for learning, behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties.Liaise with external professionals toward integrated support for students.Develop and deliver quality clinical services to students and families.Work with the school/board multidisciplinary team; track program statistics (caseload, referrals, needs identified).Provide information to the school community to foster understanding of mental health and trauma impacts.Act as a consistent, positive role model and foster a psychologically safe school environment.Attend team meetings and supervision/consultation for professional development and ethical practice.Qualifications & ExperienceEducation: Registered Psychologist with a minimum graduate-level degree preferred.Other designations eligible for consideration include: R.
