Position SummaryUnder the supervision of the Nurse Supervisor of the Infusion Centre and the general supervision of the Technical Platform Manager - Centre for Innovative Medicine (CIM), the incumbent is responsible for administering and adjusting treatments and medications to research cancer patients while ensuring the successful conduct of clinical research studies.The Centre for Innovative Medicine is located in the Glen site hospital, which is a unique center in Canada of 5000m2 dedicated exclusively to clinical research.General DutiesActs as a resource person to assist in the care of the research patient requiring complex careAdministers chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments to oncology research patientsAdministers experimental innovative therapies by infusion to research patientsInfuses blood products when necessaryEvaluates the health status of research patientsDetermines if a research patient can continue their treatmentsWorks closely with the interdisciplinary team to ensure proper care and oversight of the research patient and their families in clinical research trialsProvides appropriate resources to patientsEnsures proper research documentationReviews and documents protocol trainingsEducation / ExperienceBachelor’s degree in nursing with extra certificationGood standing member of the OIIQMinimum 2 years of experience in medical/surgical, ICU or Emergency RoomCertifications: Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Health Canada Division 5 (an asset)Bilingual: French and English spoken and writtenSolid written and verbal communication skillsAble to work under minimal supervisionSelf‑directed, flexible, organized with a good sense of work ethicsAdditional informationStatus : Full timePay Scale : $55,692 - $103,412.40 Commensurate to qualifications and experienceWork Shift : 35 hours/ week between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm Monday to Friday, and opportunity to add hours sporadically in the evening or on weekends.Work Site : Centre for Innovative Medicine, MUHC Glen Site, Oncology Satellite, Cedars Cancer Centre May have to travel on occasion.Benefits4-week vacation, 5th week after 5 yearsBank of 12 paid days (personal days and days for sickness or family obligations)13 paid statutory holidaysModular group insurance plan (including gender affirmation coverage)TelemedicineRREGOP (defined benefit government pension plan)Training and professional development opportunitiesChild Care CentresCorporate Discounts (OPUS + Perkopolis)Competitive monthly parking rateEmployee Assistance ProgramRecognition ProgramFlex work options and much moreEqual Opportunity EmploymentThe Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre hires on the basis of merit and is strongly committed to equity, diversity and inclusion within its community.
