The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations. Position Overview Under the supervision of the Clinical Documentation Lead, the Policy Writer is responsible for collaborating with key stakeholders to review, develop, and revise policies, procedures, clinical guidelines, and associated resources related to clinical services, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and best practices. The incumbent must possess strong writing skills, a deep understanding of clinical operations, and a commitment to promoting high-quality patient care and safety. Additionally, the role involves coordination and facilitation to ensure effective policy development and stakeholder engagement. Experience Minimum of 2 years of experience in policy writing/development and research an asset. Education Bachelor's degree in public policy, public health, public administration, healthcare administration or a degree/diploma in a relevant health discipline required. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Certification/Licensure/Registration Active member in good standing of an associated regulatory body as appropriate. Qualifications and Skills Exceptional writing, analytical, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate information clearly and effectively. Strong coordination and organizational skills, with experience in managing timelines and deliverables. Effective facilitation skills to lead stakeholder meetings and ensure collaborative policy development. Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and precision in policy writing and documentation. Excellent research skills, including the ability to synthesize information from multiple sources and apply it to policy development. Ability to comprehend abstract and complex concepts and translate them into concrete, simple, user-friendly documents. Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving, and decision-making within the scope of responsibilities. Competent in the use of Microsoft programing including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and SharePoint. Demonstrated mid-senior leadership capabilities. The provincial health system in Manitoba has adopted the LEADS in a Caring Environment framework. Knowledge of: Relevant professional regulatory requirements. Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act. Personal Health Information Act (PHIA). The Health System Governance and Accountability Act. Other applicable legislated acts. Shared Health clinical protocols, care maps and associated documents. Other applicable Shared Health policies, procedures, guidelines, and directives. Physical Requirements Must be able to work safely in a typical computerized office environment with frequent meetings. Ability to lift and carry items of up to approximately 10 kg. This term position may end earlier as outlined in your employee handbook.
