Job Overview Rockyview General Hospital (RGH) is Calgary’s second largest tertiary care site located in the city’s Southwest. The Cardiac Diagnostics department within RGH is recruiting a permanent, part‑time Cardiology Technologist I. Reporting to the Unit Manager of Cardiac Diagnostics and Clinics, the Cardiology Technologist is responsible for the performance of various cardiac tests, understanding and recognizing the pathophysiology associated with these test results, and processing the resulting data. Responsibilities Prepare patients (clients, residents) for non‑invasive cardiac testing to investigate cardiac abnormalities and level of function, including Holter Monitoring, Exercise Tolerance Testing and Ambulatory Monitoring. Explain procedures and educate patients on equipment function, collect patient history for procedures, and document information for physicians. Analyze and summarize test results, and generate reports for physician interpretation. Provide expertise in the set‑up, calibration, maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment and implement resuscitation measures when necessary. Precept, orient new staff and students, and provide input into the evaluation of cardiology trainees and/or students. Serve as a clinical resource by providing information regarding cardiology technology to staff and patients. Required Qualifications Completion of a certificate from an accredited school of Cardiology Technology. Active or eligible registration with the Alberta Society of Registered Cardiology Technologists (ASRCT). Active or eligible registration with the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists Cardiology Technology (CSCT). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Healthcare Provider (BCLS‑HCP). Additional Required Qualifications Demonstrated excellence in providing patient and family‑centered care. Ability to work effectively in fast‑paced, dynamic healthcare environments while maintaining high standards of patient care. Preferred Qualifications Recent acute care experience. Experience with the application, processing, and review of Holter monitors, including data analysis and patient monitoring.
