OverviewMAHC is a multi-site organization that includes Huntsville District Memorial Hospital Site and South Muskoka Memorial Hospital Site. As an Echocardiography Sonographer in Diagnostic Imaging, you will provide and maintain efficient and effective echocardiography service to the public in accordance with the goals and objectives of the Diagnostic Imaging Department.ResponsibilitiesBe capable of working both independently as well as a member of the diagnostic imaging team and other staff members of Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) in accordance with the Department’s Policies and Procedures.Ensure the safe and proper usage of sonography and other equipment required during echocardiography imaging and procedures in accordance with regulations and manufacturer’s recommendations.Provide excellent customer service to all patients with dignity and respect regardless of race, national or ethnic origin, colour, gender, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, age, type of illness or mental or physical challenges.Apply the knowledge, skill and judgment to perform all procedures for out patients, hospital and emergency department patients.Produce echocardiography images of the highest quality.MAHC strongly supports the growth and development of staff through education and clinical experience. Training to perform echocardiography related imaging, procedures and associated tasks will be supported and/or provided.Required Education/Certification(s)Graduate of a recognized echocardiography training programCertified and registered with CMRITOCanadian Registered Cardiac Sonographer (Sonography Canada) membership preferredBLS certification preferredRequired SkillsThorough and up-to-date knowledge of echocardiography techniques in both theory and practiceSound knowledge of and appropriate skills to operate all equipmentStrong computer skillsExcellent communication skills when dealing with patients, staff members and physiciansExcellent organization skills to perform required duties effectively and in a timely mannerThe ability to prioritize exams to meet both the needs of the patient as well as the departmentKnowledge of proper lifting proceduresRegular and punctual attendance is mandatoryAdditional Perks At MAHCSigning Bonus You could qualify for $7500 (Only applicable for external applicants applying for Permanent Part-Time and Permanent Full-Time positions)Staff referral program (Earn up to $1000 for each successful permanent part-time and permanent full-time new hire you refer to MAHC)Extended health benefits (Permanent Full-Time only)Enrolment in the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP)Collaborative and supportive team environmentAdditional InformationLocation: Multi-Site, working on site at both the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital (SMMH) located in Bracebridge and Huntsville District Memorial Hospital (HDMH) located in Huntsville.
