Lead Machinist Location: Kingston, ON Pay rate: Flexible based on experience Shift: day shift About the Opportunity Join a well-established and spacious machine shop in Kingston, Ontario, as a Lead Machinist. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced lathe machinist who thrives in a hands‑on environment and enjoys mentoring others. You'll work on custom, small‑run projects and play a key role in supporting junior machinists while contributing to a collaborative and high‑performing team. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate manual or CNC lathe machines according to blueprints and specifications Manufacture small‑batch, precision components and prototypes Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues during production Provide guidance and mentorship to junior machinists Maintain high standards of accuracy and attention to detail in all machining tasks What You Bring Minimum 5 years of machining experience, with strong proficiency in manual or CNC lathe operations Solid blueprint reading and interpretation skills Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines Strong communication and teamwork skills A proactive approach to problem‑solving and mentoring Work Environment You’ll be part of a close‑knit team of five floor staff and a production manager. The shop offers a spacious layout, modern equipment, and a balanced mix of independent work and team collaboration.
