You’ll have the ability to be part of this research firsthand, to learn from it, and will be supported to integrate that research into your practice. Job Responsibilities/duties Assist clients with activities of daily living, such as feeding, lifts and transfers, bathing, skin care, oral hygiene and toileting Perform delegated tasks for duties such as catheter care, suppositories, non‑sterile dressings and mobilization routines for complex care clients Administer medication to clients and provide medication reminders, in accordance to established policy Plans, prepares and serves meals and shops for groceries Observes clients and their environments and report unsafe conditions and behavioral and physical changes Completes and maintains related records and documentation such as communication books and progress notes Working in group homes with individuals with developmental disabilities such as Spinal Cord Injury, Dementia and Down Syndrome Performs other related duties as assigned Qualifications Grade 12 completion Food Safe Certificate Registration with BC Care Aide Association Class 4 BC Driver’s license and access to a vehicle Up to date immunization record including a current TB test within 1 year. A satisfactory Criminal Reference Check and Vulnerable Sector Check issued in the past 12 months Able to work independently as well as part of a team, with excellent organizational skills to manage your schedule. Compassionate, respectful, and sincere manner, with ability to deal with conflict in a diplomatic and professional manner Effective problem‑solving and conflict management skills. This is a physically demanding position and requires hand, arm and shoulder dexterity, sensory ability, lifting to a maximum of approximately fifty‑five (55) pounds, walking, standing, bending, reaching, and frequent movement. Knowledge & abilities Flexible working hours – able to work overnight, evening and weekends Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position Ability to operate related equipment Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing Ability to organize and prioritize Experience with quadriplegics and behavioral conditions such as Dementia & Autism would be an asset Wage: Starting at $27.92 About SE Health At SE, we love what we do.
