Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer, the Senior Compliance Counsellor will participate in the development and implementation of PineStone’s compliance policies and procedures in order to ensure the firm and its employees respect all applicable legal and regulatory requirements. The selected candidate will also be responsible for monitoring the investment constraints of the funds and segregated mandates managed by PineStone. In particular, the candidate will:Participate in the development and oversight of compliance policies and procedures designed to respect applicable laws and regulations, industry standards, best practices and contractual obligationsMaintain a watchful eye on all ongoing legislative and regulatory developments so as to analyze their impact on PineStone’s operationsParticipate in the onboarding of new clients and in the creation of new products/mandatesConducting testing and verification of the firm’s various compliance programsBe responsible for the pre-trade and post-trade verification of the investment constraints of the funds and segregated mandates managed by PineStoneEnsure the verification of documents sent to clients, potential clients and consultantsBe responsible for PineStone’s registration and continuous reporting obligations in accordance with Canadian, American and other jurisdictions regulatory requirementsParticipate in the training and coaching of analysts in the compliance teamWork closely with the leaders and members of other departments to answer questions and complete projects to enhance operational effectivenessPerform other tasks as required for the role QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Law or another relevant degreeCompletion or enrollment in the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and Partners, Directors, and Officers Course or the Chief Compliance Officers Qualifying Exam (CCO) a significant asset. Must be willing to undertake these courses in the first 6 months of employmentMinimum 10 years of compliance experience in the asset management sectorKnowledge of global equity strategies, a significant assetExperience in the research and analysis of regulatory requirements and practical applicationLeadership skills with a team-oriented and collaborative approachOutstanding attention to detail, organizational skills and ability to excel in a fast-paced environmentSolid analytical skills and ability to understand and resolve complex problemsTeam player, able to work well with employees from all departments of the firmAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)Bilingual (French/English) a significant asset What we offerCompetitive compensation and benefits packageA culture of collaboration and excellenceA challenging work environment and the unique opportunity to join a growing firm Seniority levelMid-Senior level Employment typeFull-time Job functionLegal IndustriesInvestment Management #J-18808-Ljbffr
