Highlights of the job We are hiring a Senior Analyst, Corporate Accounting [Temporary Full Time, Up to 18 months] position working out of Edmonton, AB. As the Senior Analyst, Corporate Accounting, you will play a critical role in ensuring financial integrity for the reporting of EPCOR’s Corporate functions. This position is responsible for delivering accurate accounting services to Corporate shared service departments as well as other corporate transactions such as financing activities. As a valuable member of the Corporate Accounting team, you will have strong attention to detail, foster strong cross‑functional relationships, and ensure financial processes are in compliance with all policies, standards, and controls. What you’d be responsible for Recording and reviewing Corporate journal entries, accruals, adjustments, and invoicing with accuracy and timeline. Monitoring account reconciliations and variance analyses and resolving discrepancies proactively. Preparing and presenting Monthly Financial Reports and Year Over Year analyses to senior leadership. Advising shared service groups on financial matters including the support of Financial systems and tools used by the organization. Planning, coordinating, processing, and reviewing the annual budget and forecast updates for the Corporate shared service departments and financing activities. Contributing to designing and implementing financial processes that comply with policies, standards, and regulatory requirements. Supporting special projects such as regulatory filings, corporate reorganizations, and financial system implementations. Qualifications, experience and behaviours you possess are: A Degree in Business (or a related field) from a recognized post‑secondary educational institute. A CPA professional accounting designation is required. 4+ years of progressive accounting experience. Advanced Microsoft Office skills, specifically in Excel for financial analysis and reporting. Knowledge and use of Oracle financial systems and planning tools such as Adaptive. Ability to apply relevant knowledge and technical skills to ensure the adherence to financial reporting practices, policies, controls and accounting standards. Proven track record for strong attention to detail, building effective cross‑functional relationships, and a focus on continuous process improvements. Other important facts about this job Jurisdiction: CSU52 Class: P2 Hours of work: 75 hours biweekly Wage: Starting at $52.35 per hour (Final Wage and Step will be determined at the time of selection and based on a combination of factors as outlined in the Collective Agreement). Additional requirements: You are at least 18 years of age, successfully attained a high school diploma (GED, or equivalent level of secondary education) and legally entitled to work in Canada. (A copy of a valid work permit may be required.) If you are considered for the position, clearance on all applicable background checks (which may include criminal, identity, educational, and/or credit) and professional reference checks is required. Some EPCOR positions require an enhanced level of background assessment, which is dictated by law. These positions require advanced criminal record checks that must also be conducted from time to time after commencement of employment.
