Overview The Medical Arts Centre UPCC offers casual, full‑time or part‑time roles in a team‑based, flexible‑hour environment. The clinic is located in downtown Nanaimo by the waterfront and operates Urgent Primary Care Service Contracts (UPCC). Attendance is low commitment with attractive remuneration. Community Information Nanaimo, population 103,500, is a growing urban centre on Vancouver Island, approximately 100 km north of Victoria. The community offers cultural and educational opportunities, waterfront recreation, and year‑round access to activities such as kayaking, hiking, mountain biking, and skiing. The city hosts the Vancouver Island University, an 800‑seat waterfront theatre, and is adjacent to renowned private schools. Shift Details Typical shift length: 3–4 hours (longer shifts available). Clinic hours: 08:00–21:00 Monday–Friday, 09:00–18:00 weekends/holidays. Shift Expectations See a minimum of 3 patients per hour. Urgent care may be required depending on clinical scenario. Review investigations from prior orders: ~30–60 minutes per shift. Work between two exam rooms with access to a nursing station and four procedure rooms. Support from nursing staff (ear syringing, dressing changes, immunizations, RN scope expansion) and on‑site pharmacist, social worker, MHSU clinicians. Payment Details Contract base rate: $198.48 per hour. Additional $25 per hour for direct patient care during evenings (18:00+) and weekends/holidays. Additional incentives may be available – ask for more details. No overhead will be removed from payments. Start Date As soon as possible.
