These teams play a critical role in supporting brokerage risk, advanced trading products and key decisions related to financial planning, treasury operations, and liquidity management at Wealthsimple. You will have the opportunity to lead and manage both teams and make a significant impact.The Market Risk team was built from the ground up to establish a Brokerage Market Risk function, evolving brokerage risk management to support growth and resource optimization for products like margin and options. Now, with a solid foundation, there's a unique chance to scale these initiatives, applying data-driven approaches to optimize financial resources and enhance risk management across an increasingly complex client offering.The Finance team is crucial to deliver data quality, accessibility, and efficiency within the finance data mart, enabling Wealthsimple to confidently grow. You will also lead capital efficiency initiatives, ensuring collateral, liquidity, and assets are optimally managed. This role offers extensive collaboration with various teams, including Options Clearing, Cash & Collateral Management, and Margin Supervision.ResponsibilitesLead, coach, and mentor a high performing team of data scientists, analysts, and associates dedicated to Finance data science and Market risk initiatives.Deliver high-quality financial metrics and advanced analytics to support key decisions related to financial planning, treasury operations, and liquidity management.Develop and maintain the finance data mart, with a focus on optimizing data quality, accessibility, and efficiency.Develop and maintain dashboards to continuously monitor market conditions and client risk exposures and P&L. Maintain low-latency view with near real time data.Build and maintain risk metrics like VaR, as well as simulated stressed metrics like SVaR.Implement, develop and maintain IFRS9 ECL forecast models for our credit cards.Develop and maintain models and algorithms for capital efficiency: CDIC, collateral forecasts, credit card revenue, asset segregation, etc.Collaborate widely with various teams: Options Clearing, Cash & Collateral Management, and Margin Supervision, FP&A, Book of Record, Treasury .Act as a champion for your team’s successes, and promote their work toCommunicate and promote the work of your team to fellow data scientists and stakeholders.Attract, onboard, and retain top talent to grow your team, actively participating in the hiring process and developing succession plans for key roles.
