The hospital has 25 beds, a 24-hour Emergency Department and Outpatient Clinics, staffed by Family Physicians. An education agreement with Memorial University of Newfoundland trains Family Practice Residents with faculty on site. Each Family Physician is responsible for the medical care of a North Coast community. Specialists include a General Surgeon, an Anesthetist and an Obstetrician/Gynaecologist. Visiting specialists provide services regularly. Position Details Position: Healthcare Security Officer Site: Labrador Health Centre Overtime: Overtime after 48 hours Hours: Continental Rotation Pay rate: $23.00/hour Posting Date: October 10, 2025 Internal Closing Date: October 31, 2025 External Closing Date: October 31, 2025 Schedule Example Week 1 - Days: Mon-Tues, Fri-Sat Week 2 - Days: Sun, Wed-Thu Week 3 - Nights: Mon-Tues, Fri-Sat Week 4 - Nights: Sun, Wed-Thu Key Responsibilities Patrol Hospital Grounds: conduct regular rounds of hospital premises, including parking areas, hallways, patient rooms, entrances, and exits, to ensure safety and security. Monitor Surveillance Systems: operate security cameras and alarm systems, reporting suspicious activity promptly. Access Control: monitor and control entry points to ensure only authorized individuals access restricted areas. Respond to Emergencies: act quickly in medical emergencies, fire alarms, or security threats; assist staff during crises and evacuations. Provide Customer Service: greet and assist visitors, patients, and hospital staff; provide directions and ensure adherence to policies. Conflict Resolution: de-escalate tense situations and resolve conflicts professionally. Report Writing: document daily activities, incidents or accidents; complete incident reports as needed. Collaboration with Hospital Staff: work with hospital staff and local law enforcement to ensure coordinated security. Enforce Hospital Policies: ensure compliance with visitor and patient protocols; address violations to uphold safety standards. Prerequisites Clear criminal background check and vulnerable sector check Valid First Aid & CPR - Level C (from a CSA-approved vendor) COVID-19 vaccine two doses Immunization records for Mumps, Measles, Rubella, Varicella and two-step TB skin test Valid Class 5 Driver License English (oral and written) fluency Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or related field preferred Must be able to provide certifications in Use of Force (UOF) and Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) Applicants may opt into Paladin\'s UOF/MOAB training prior to onboarding; training is not paid but Paladin covers costs with a 6-month commitment Why choose Paladin?
