The Inventory Controller is responsible for preparing and manipulating products according to standardized recipes and tallies to meet service requirements. Tasks include numeric calculation, decasing, tempering, decanting, portioning, depositing, weighing, fortification, and texture modification. The role ensures safe food handling and sanitation practices throughout all stages of product preparation and storage, cleans and sanitizes equipment and service areas, and participates in Quality Assurance Programs. Experience Previous experience in food service. Satisfactory employment record. Education Minimum Grade 12 education, Manitoba Standards, required. Certification and Licensure Valid Food Handler’s certificate required. Qualifications and Skills Must be able to read, write and speak English effectively. Able to follow oral and written instructions. Knowledge of food products and food preparation techniques. Physical Requirements Position involves bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, pulling up to 25 lbs. and standing for long periods of time. Working in a cold environment (2–10 °C) with some exposure to –18 °C. Exposure to chemical cleaning supplies. Numeric calculation of menu service requirements. Use of industrial food production equipment. Ability to adapt to changing tasks. Ability to work as a team member and independently in a time‑sensitive environment. Additional Requirements This term position may end earlier as outlined in the collective agreement. Requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check, and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred.
