The Manager, Patient Care Services is responsible for the management, leadership and coordination of services for the areas within the assigned portfolio. This includes responsibility for the management of staff and resources and the provision of leadership and consultative advice in clinical care, operational and administrative activities of the service(s); ensuring that services are delivered and implemented in an effective and efficient manner and meeting established strategic directions and organizational initiatives and objectives in a manner aligned with the organization's culture, values and strategic direction. Starting salary will be approximately from $129,557 to $159,875 and will be based on education, training, experience, reporting structure and salaries of similar positions. Dawson Creek & District Hospital Dawson Creek and District Hospital is a full service community hospital that provides service to Dawson Creek and surrounding communities. It has 31 Acute Care beds and 15 regional adult psychiatric beds. Dawson Creek is the Orthopaedic Trauma and Surgical centre for the Northeast Region of BC. Services include: Emergency ICU Day Surgery Respiratory Therapy Primary Care Acute Care Diagnostic Imaging Laboratory Visiting specialists include: Urology Dermatology Pediatrics Obstetrics and Gynecology Construction is underway on the new Dawson Creek & District Hospital, anticipated to open in Spring 2027. This state‑of‑the‑art facility will be over 50% bigger than the current hospital and will feature 70 beds, modern patient care spaces, and expanded and enhanced services to meet the growing needs of the community. Dawson Creek Wide blue skies and the rolling foothills of the Northern Rockies surround Dawson Creek. The city is also known as the Mile Zero City, as it marks the start of the Alaska Highway, a 2,400 km long highway connecting Alaska and the Yukon to Western Canada and the United States. Dawson Creek has a population of approximately 12,500. It provides primary service to a population of approximately 20,000 and helps serve the larger population of the Peace River Region of 60,000. Qualfications Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing plus five (5) years recent related experience plus post‑basic education in management, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Current registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of a multidisciplinary team approach involved in the coordination of care in a complex environment and system of care services. Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and delegate. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to promote team building while understanding that decisive action is required. Ability to find creative solutions to problems and to develop alternative strategies to support quality improvement initiatives. Positive problem solving skills in a dynamic unionised work environment. Computer proficiency.
