For over 70 years AGS has stood behind our belief in quality, technology, and teamwork. Job Summary AGS is looking for a Web Application Developer with a focus on SharePoint/O365 Development. This position requires a proactive, project-driven individual who excels in facilitating change and demonstrates exceptional leadership skills. You will be a technical expert in analysis, design, coding, testing, and debugging of new solutions or major enhancements to existing Microsoft-based systems. The ideal candidate has strong SharePoint/Power Platform programming experience, excellent communication skills, results-driven, and passionate about emerging technologies such as AI. Duties & Responsibilities Lead the design and development of dynamic, interactive web-based systems that are scalable in performance and maintainability Develop and test software components using current industry tools and processes Analyse, design, develop, test and implement enterprise-scale applications and solutions utilizing programming languages, Power Apps, Power BI, Power Automate and SharePoint following best practices Responsible for design, development, deployment and support of business applications using SQL, Microsoft Power Platform and SharePoint Research and understand emerging practices and technologies Design and build custom programming solutions leveraging AI where possible Design and build SharePoint Online sites and solutions Design and build no-code/low-code solutions on the Power Platform to support automation, integrations, and data flows Create the look, layout, and features of a website or application to enhance user experience, including user research, wireframes, prototypes, and usability testing Drive Power Platform implementations through all project phases—discover, define, build, test, and deploy Develop and maintain project documentation such as business requirement documents, process flows, presentations, etc. Design and develop Power BI Business Intelligence reports and dashboards Liaise with other IT support teams, business areas and third parties to investigate, resolve, and escape problems and incidents, ensuring SLA targets for application availability are maintained Continuously evaluate existing systems and propose improvements Troubleshoot technical issues, perform root cause analysis and remediate issues Accountable for the effectiveness, quality and timeliness of solution development and architecture decisions Education, Skills And Experience Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field Strong emphasis on quality code and effective commenting Excellent oral and written communication skills Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly 5+ years of hands‑on SharePoint development experience creating features and solutions including apps, master pages, custom layouts, content types, workflows, and search display templates Experience in JavaScript (React, Node.js, Angular), HTML, CSS, and related UI technologies Proficiency in Python, its libraries for data analysis and manipulation, and SQL for database management Enterprise-scale experience with cloud and hybrid infrastructures, architecture designs, and technology management Experience designing database schema, tables, stored procedures and RESTful APIs Relational database experience – SQL Proficiency in Linux and Microsoft server administration; experience with Apache or other web servers Proficiency in version control systems such as Git Strong experience with business process automation and intelligence using the Power Platform (Power Automate, Power BI, PowerApps) and Microsoft Flow Experience with enterprise-level portals and collaboration solutions in SharePoint Online/O365 using SPFx, CSOM, JavaScript, jQuery, ASP.NET, C#, Web Services, PowerShell, CAML, LINQ, XML/XSLT, HTML and CSS Knowledge of SharePoint and O365 development APIs: JSOM, SharePoint REST API, Microsoft Graph API, SSOM and Visual Studio Experience with related technologies such as SQL Server, IIS, Active Directory Integration of SharePoint with third-party applications and enterprise information systems Proficiency in defining and maintaining Taxonomy Term Store, custom content types, result sources, refiners, and display templates for SharePoint Search Experience with the Software Development Life Cycle and agile methodologies, converting use cases into prototypes and finished solutions Effective consulting, time management and analytical skills Ability to work independently and on a team with minimal supervision to meet project milestones and deadlines EFFECT Help shape the future of AI technologies Communicate effectively in writing and verbally Manage budgets and schedules and prioritize competing commitments Act as a technical team lead on SharePoint development projects UX‑driven focus for responsive, user‑friendly SharePoint and PowerApps applications Approach software development holistically for end‑user and developer success Present to technical and non‑technical audiences at all levels Provide thorough technical support and training for end‑users WORKING CONDITIONS Travel may be required between AGS locations in Michigan and Ontario Accessibility AGS Automotive Systems is proud to support the full inclusion of persons with disabilities, in accordance with the Ontario Human Rights Code and the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, 2005.
