Job Summary The Autobody Shop Manager for a collision centre is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the autobody repair process. The role combines technical expertise in autobody repair, managerial skills, and customer service acumen to ensure repairs are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining excellent customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities Team Management: Supervise and lead a team of autobody technicians, painters, estimators, and administrative staff; provide guidance, training, and support; foster a positive, collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork and professional growth. Workflow Management: Coordinate and schedule repair jobs to optimize workflow; allocate personnel, equipment, and materials based on workload and priorities; monitor progress and address delays or issues to keep projects on track. Quality Control: Implement and enforce quality control procedures; conduct regular inspections of completed repairs; work closely with technicians to resolve technical challenges and provide guidance on best practices. Customer Service: Interact with customers to understand repair needs, provide accurate estimates, and address concerns; maintain open communication throughout the repair process; handle complaints professionally and promptly to achieve high customer satisfaction. Inventory and Supply Management: Manage inventory levels of parts and supplies; establish relationships with suppliers and negotiate pricing; monitor and reorder supplies to prevent workflow disruptions. Safety and Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and ensure staff adherence to regulations; stay informed about industry trends and regulations; ensure the centre complies with environmental, health, and safety standards. Financial Management: Develop and manage budgets; monitor financial performance; implement cost‑control measures; analyse reports and KPIs to identify improvement areas and increase efficiency and revenue. Requirements Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in automotive technology, business management, or a related field. Previous experience in autobody repair, preferably in a managerial or supervisory role within a collision centre. Strong technical knowledge of autobody repair techniques, materials, and equipment. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills; ability to motivate and inspire team members. Superior customer service skills with a focus on building positive relationships and exceeding expectations. Proficiency in computerized estimating systems and relevant software applications. Strong organisational and problem‑solving abilities with keen attention to detail. Knowledge of industry regulations and safety standards related to autobody repair. Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
