Key Responsibilities Work effectively as a member of the Power Production Operations Team and function in a planned work environment. Participate in competency‑based, regulatory and on‑the‑job training to develop additional skills. Operate within the NSPI/IBEW Collective Agreement and on an as‑required basis. Ensure personal and co‑worker safety by observing all Occupational Health and Safety rules and regulations. Maintain solid environmental performance and support ISO 14001 processes; participate in Emergency Response. Temporarily assist other locations when required and travel throughout the province. Ensure compliance with all NERC/NPCC reliability standards related to Power Production. Respond to call‑outs as required; primary residence within 60 minutes of headquarters. Qualifications & Skills 2nd Class Power Engineer Certificate and at least 3 years experience as a Power Engineer at a generating station or similar. Acceptable color vision for operation of control‑monitoring equipment. Problem‑resolution skills and flexibility to adapt to rescheduled assignments. Strong teamwork, interpersonal skills, computer aptitude, and the ability to handle multiple tasks. Applicants with a 3rd Class Power Engineer Certificate or enrolling in the final year of a 3rd Class program considered as Power Engineer Apprentices; apprentices must complete required papers and skills to obtain 2nd Class certificate within a specified timeframe. Work Conditions & Physical Capabilities Lifting 10–25 lbs. from floor to overhead occasionally and carrying 50 lbs. with two hands. Push/pull 95 lbs. with whole body; 145 lbs. with upper body on a minimal basis. Perform tasks with varied grip strength, static reaching, and bending positions as required. Stand, walk constantly, and climb ladders or stairs frequently. Safety & Policy Compliance This position is safety‑sensitive.
