We’re always searching the globe for innovative, collaborative minds to join our best-in-class Aecon communityW hat is the Opportunity?As part of an alliance agreement, Aecon has been awarded a contract in an Aecon-led partnership with Kiewit Nuclear Canada by Ontario Power Generation (OPG) for the execution phase on the Darlington New Nuclear Project (DNNP) in Clarington, Ontario. Beginning in 2025 Aecon will support the Construction of the Unit 1 Small Modular Reactor at the Darlington site.The Jr. Project Coordinator Co-op will report to the Project Manager, Offsite Fabrication, and will be responsible for planning all critical material movements. This role will require continuous communication with all project team members and will be responsible for identifying and implementing continuous improvements of material handling methods.What You'll Do Here:Plans and implements an engineering and construction program, including defining the project plan, activities, milestones, and manpower requirementsAssist in the development and maintenance of Comprehensive Work Package in cooperation with construction and engineering.Identify, report, and secure approval for deviations from the design documents as they occur and before release to construction.Provide assurance that construction activities are performed in accordance with written and approved policy, standards, programs and applicable procedures.Provide and ensure effectiveness of the liaison function between field trades and design engineers for problem resolution and information flow.Provides status and progress reports to customer, project team, and managementEstablish and maintain interfaces with other internal groups, subcontractors and suppliers supporting the project.Develop and write detailed work plans in cooperation with construction leads.Maintain high standards related to final product qualityDevelops and maintains the project schedule and budget for the engineering and construction segments of the projectControls expenditures within limitations of project budgetCoordinates preparation and delivery of project deliverables, design documents, as built drawings, turnover documents, etc.Reviews project design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements and related specificationsCoordinates activities relating to technical developments, scheduling and resolving engineering design and test problemsInterfaces with customers to provide project status reports and ensures customer needs are metAssists and monitors safety programs and statistics as requiredActive involvement in quality assurance with regards to understating and implementing policies and procedures.Develop material handling plans for each critical construction activity utilizing 3D modeling.What You Bring to the Table:Pursuing a Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Materials engineering or a related technologist diploma (3 year or more program) is preferred.Minimum GPA of 3.0Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).Strong report writing skills.Strong Interpersonal skills in communicating with a large team.Knowledge with welding and NDE methods is an asset.Good computer skills, knowledge with AutoCAD or Autodesk Inventor is considered an asset.Thrive on a fast-paced environment.We strongly encourage applicants who identify as Indigenous to apply to work with us on the Darlington New Nuclear Project.
