The opportunity Lead Heart & Stroke’s Azure cloud and AIOps transformation: scaling secure, automated, and intelligent infrastructure for digital products, fundraising, and data-driven insights across Canada. This is a chance to build the cloud foundation that powers life‑saving innovation As Senior Manager, Cloud Infrastructure & AI Operations, you’ll lead a remote and growing team of cloud engineers and operations specialists. Your mandate: evolve our Azure platform into a fully automated, observable, and AI‑assisted environment: balancing innovation with reliability, cost efficiency, and compliance (PCI, PHIPA). You’ll shape standards, mentor technical talent, and bring a product mindset to how infrastructure supports our digital ecosystem. You’ll lead at the intersection of technology modernisation and mission impact: scaling systems that directly enable fundraising, engagement, and health innovation. This role blends strategic architecture with hands‑on experienced engineering leadership. How you will make an impact every day Set the vision for Azure infrastructure and automation Lead, coach, and grow a high‑performing cloud engineering team Implement Infrastructure‑as‑Code, CI/CD, observability, and AIOps tools Partner across Cybersecurity, Data, and Digital Product teams to ensure scalable, secure solutions Govern cloud spend, performance, and incident response Drive standardisation, documentation, and continuous improvement across the infrastructure lifecycle. Who we need 10+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering and operations, including 5+ years in a formal people‑leadership role (managing technical teams, setting priorities, coaching, and performance management) Deep hands‑on cloud experience designing, implementing, and managing secure, performant and reliable Azure environments for digital and data products (front door, compute, networking, storage, automation, cost optimisation) Deep technical fluency in Infrastructure‑as‑Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates), CI/CD automation, and observability frameworks (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights) Experience with AIOps or traditional holistic monitoring design and implementation Experience managing cloud governance, cost optimisation, and compliance programmes at scale (PCI, PHIPA) Track record of cross‑functional leadership, collaborating with cybersecurity, data, and product teams to align infrastructure with enterprise goals Strong communicator who balances technical depth with business clarity Bonus: Azure certifications (AZ‑305, AZ‑400) and exposure to ethical AI or data‑driven automation.
