Maintenance Technician IV, Building Electrician

Identify malfunctions and undertake routine repairs or recommend solutions for more complex issues. Scope Of Duties & Responsibilities Fulfil Health & Safety responsibilities by adherence to the requirements of the Company’s Health & Safety Policy and Management Plans Support the Company’s Quality Policy Statement and actively participate in achievement of Company and personal quality objectives Comply with the Company’s policies, management plans and procedures Assist in the implementation of a preventive maintenance program for a physical plant and related systems to meet BCSA, CSA and Transport Canada Standards and Regulations Maintain and operate physical plant equipment used in lighting, heating, ventilating and air conditioning of buildings; conduct required CSA C282‑2015 maintenance service of diesel generator sets Install, maintain and repair electronic equipment and systems Carry out electrical repairs and cleaning of electrical components and equipment and prepare records related to the work Operate and adjust control systems and maintain an inventory of parts and supplies Maintain and test fire alarm systems, maintain primary and secondary distribution systems including high voltage; upgrade system and maintain direct digital control system Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of electrical equipment installations Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fibre‑optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components. Keep in compliance with BC Building Code, Canadian Electrical Code, BCSA and local authorities codes, regulations and standards Maintain, repair, test and install electrical motors, generators, alternators, storage batteries and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical control systems; assist Airfield Electrician when required Troubleshoot, maintain and repair industrial, electrical and electronic control systems and other related devices Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records, using CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) Assist with developing goals and priorities, assigning tasks and projects ensuring accuracy and completion Assist with developing staff skills by training and coaching assigned staff Respond to electrical and electronic emergency calls Be part of the facilities management out‑of‑hours team, ensuring the successful delivery of all property and customer services within full operational coverage (7‑day/365‑day/year) Ensure compliance with and endorsement of FM Contract requirements for security, including security clearance as required by Kelowna Airport and Satellite Operations Management Undertake any other duties appropriate to the level and character of work as reasonably required within the Department / Service Requirements / Qualifications Authorized to work in Canada BC Trades Certification or Red Seal IP certification in relevant trade Knowledge of occupational hazards, safe working practices and applicable regulations in Facility Management in accordance with Work Safety Regulations Ability to meet enhanced government security clearance requirements to obtain a Transport Canada security clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain an Airside Vehicle Operators Permit Ability to work as part of an integrated maintenance team on a flexible schedule enabling maintenance and repair activities to be conducted outside of core airport and off‑site client operating hours as required Ability to communicate effectively with Supervisor, co‑workers and customers avoiding unnecessary conflict B.C.
