Senior RPG Programmer/Analyst – REMOTE - FS411 Fresche Solutions offers great work‑life balance with flexible hours. You can work anywhere in Canada—from home or in one of our offices. What you will do: Design, code, test, debug, and document IBM i development tools using RPG and related languages. Participate in development as part of a team and work independently on projects. Work directly with the client to craft approaches and solutions with the development team; add clarity to client systems when questions arise from other team members. Conform to client SDLC processes and procedures. Assist in the design, development, testing, and maintenance of software systems. Collaborate with other developers to remove technical blockers; sometimes work directly with clients to understand impacts and business logic. Follow Fresche methodology and industry coding standards and best practices. Create user-defined functions through TDOMS and related programs; research as needed (sometimes creating the UDF directly). Conduct code reviews for table and logical file changes. Maintain separate (outside of TDOMS) promotion path as required. Perform various levels of testing (unit, integration, acceptance, smoke) using automated and manual methods. Participate in code reviews and collaborate with QA on test plan reviews. Proactively support managing client expectations, concerns, and questions. Document new and existing applications and systems with textual explanations and visual diagrams as appropriate for the audience. What you must have: 15+ years with IBM i (iSeries, AS/400), DB2 database, and RPGLE language (free-form and fixed-form). Strong understanding of ERP systems and supply chain. Recent programming/analysis experience in RPGILE, Free and fixed format RPGLE, SQL, and embedded SQL within RPG. Advanced DB2 application programming. Good understanding of change management processes. Effective communication with all levels of employees and management. Eligibility to work in Canada.
