Mechanical Designer Shape Technologies Group – Burlington, Ontario, Canada. Responsibilities Ensure tasks are delivered on time and design practices are consistently applied. Interface with the design group and customers, ensuring requirements are met and design intent is understood. Design to current safety standards and procedures, providing feedback to improve processes. Evaluate component sizes, weights, tolerances, and characteristics to meet design requirements and cost objectives. Assist in analysis of development test results and suggestions from engineering meetings, implementing required changes. Recommend improvements and incorporate necessary changes into robotic systems and designs. Follow up on designs through the build process to create as‑build drawings. Maintain a working knowledge of pneumatic/hydraulic systems, mechanical drive systems, servo motors, conveyors, and robotics. Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Experience in SolidWorks and AutoCAD design software. Machine design and drafting knowledge. Good understanding of GD & T. Strong analytical skills. Ability to travel to customer locations. Education & Experience Post‑secondary education in a technical or engineering discipline. At least 2+ years of related experience.
