In this exciting, rewarding and challenging opportunity, you will perform media relations activities within the region and act as a resource person to regional Command Staff, Unit/Detachment Commanders, Community Mobilization and Engagement Coordinators and field personnel in the development and implementation of external and internal communication strategies.About Us:The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is one of North America\'s largest deployed police services with more than 5,800 uniformed officers, 2,400 civilian employees and 830 Auxiliary officers. We are the largest police service in Ontario and the second largest in Canada.From Moosonee Detachment in the north to White River Detachment in the west, the North East Region of the OPP encompasses a geographical area of 423,173 sq. kilometers. Major Trans Canada Highway routes pass through the region, and weather permitting, there are two ice roads that stretch to the James Bay coast. OPP North East Region provides policing to over 190,000 permanent residents and to more than 400,000 people when including temporary/seasonal residents.
