Part‑time Receptionist, Health Services (3 positions available) Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology is looking for a Part‑time Receptionist to join the Health Services team. The role provides front‑line customer service by managing phone calls, scheduling appointments, relaying messages, handling medical records, and supporting the medical staff. Vacancy for three positions: P05312, P05030, P21121. Responsibilities The receptionist/clerk is the front‑line position in providing accessible, friendly, and efficient customer service for students and staff. Responsibilities include: Answering phone calls for booking appointments, relaying messages to nurses and doctors, and providing medication or test results. Processing requests for copies of medical charts, information, points of sale, updating demographics. Corresponding with patients and updating medical charts. Assisting patient registration and consent processes. Faxing, managing referrals, ordering supplies. Maintaining department statistics and client satisfaction surveys. Required Qualifications Minimum two‑year diploma or equivalent – preferably in Medical Office Administration. Minimum of three years’ experience in a “high demand” medical office setting. Excellent oral communication skills to interact with clients/patients, physicians, and clinic staff. Strong computer skills with knowledge of Adobe, Microsoft Suite, and Outlook; familiarity with Electronic Medical Record software such as PS Suite is preferred. Ability to work under pressure in a very busy office environment. Flexible working hours as required. Experience creating Custom Forms in PS Suite is an asset. Experience with Ocean technologies, by Cognizant MD, is an asset. Working Schedule Position P05312: Monday and Friday, 8:30 am–4:45 pm (14.5 hrs/week) Position P05030: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, 8:30 am–3:00 pm (24 hrs/week) Position P21121: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, 10:15 am–4:45 pm (24 hrs/week) Working Hours Flexibility Ability to work flexible hours, if required.
