Our public sector client is seeking up an Intermediate SharePoint Analyst for a 6‑month, full time contract. The SharePoint Analyst will be required on a full‑time basis (7.25 hour work day, 36.25 hours/week), and the primary role will be responsible for providing technical support, troubleshooting, and maintenance for the Clients’ SharePoint environments. The SharePoint Analyst will collaborate closely with end‑users, IT teams, and stakeholders to ensure the smooth functioning of SharePoint sites and applications. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. The SharePoint Analyst will review and understand departmental and corporate policies, business rules, data requirements and supporting system processes and ensure that project objectives and schedules align with the overall department goals and the corporate business plan. The SharePoint Analyst will provide analysis and recommendations on process improvements and to applications, SharePoint sites, hosting infrastructure and include details of risks, dependencies, business impacts, interdependencies, and policy implications pertaining to internal/external expectations and influence the methodology to be applied on projects. This resource will have working knowledge and experience of IT infrastructure environments including general concepts of workstation/server hardware, software build and push strategies, and a general understanding of line‑of‑business applications and architectures. The resource must have a sound understanding of IT Change and Communication Management and User Acceptance Testing frameworks. A proven ability to function on an individual basis and in a team environment is essential. Resources awareness of existing Government of Alberta and department IT policies, procedures, standards, guidelines and practices is an asset. This resource will participate in the M365 and SharePoint Online Migration Project, includes planning, designing, testing, migration, and implementation activities as it relates to SharePoint Online and related products. Responsibilities Support Microsoft SharePoint environments, including SharePoint 2016 On‑Premise and SharePoint Online. Perform business analysis and design to support creating SharePoint solutions. Provide first and second‑level technical support for SharePoint‑related issues, including user inquiries, system errors, and performance problems. Troubleshoot SharePoint site and application issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions in a timely manner. Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as software updates, patch installations, and system configurations, to ensure the stability and security of the SharePoint environment. Monitor SharePoint servers, services, and workflows to proactively identify and resolve potential issues before they impact users. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather requirements, design solutions, and implement enhancements to SharePoint sites and applications. Develop and maintain technical documentation, user guides, and training materials to support end‑users and IT staff in using and administering SharePoint. Participate in testing and quality assurance activities to validate the functionality, performance, and usability of SharePoint solutions. Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies related to SharePoint and collaborate with the team to evaluate their potential impact and benefits. Perform business requirements and complex design in delivering solutions using out‑of‑box SharePoint components and 3rd party tools (e.g. Nintex) as appropriate to meet business needs. Provide expertise for the design of new processes for support of Microsoft SharePoint and related systems. Guide business users on the effective use of SharePoint for Enterprise Content Management. Validate data used to support migration efforts. Resolve day‑to‑day problems arising through operational support of SharePoint. Develop and implement solutions both individually and as a member of SharePoint operations team. Produce routine reports that correlate hours worked with operational duties. Work directly with Government of Alberta technical staff and other stakeholders. Working Hours Standard Hours of work are 08:15 – 16:30 Alberta time, Monday through Friday excluding holidays observed by the client. Work must be done from within Canada, due to network and data security issues. This resource will primarily work remotely; however, the resource may be required to attend meetings or work sessions in office on reasonable notice from the Client. At the time of providing such notice, the Client will advise of the expected duration of any such meetings or work sessions. However, time to travel and any associated expenses to and from Edmonton and/or travel within Alberta will be at no cost to the Client/Handis Consulting Inc. Equipment Resource will require own equipment. The computer's operating system must be a modern version of Windows or MacOS that is compatible with Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) and related software for remote access. Windows is preferred due to better compatibility. AVD/remote‑related software will be installed on the resource's computer. Requirements Education The proposed resource must meet or exceed one of the following:– University graduation in computer science or a related discipline and 4‑yr relevant experience;– 2‑yr diploma in computer science or a related discipline and 6‑yr relevant experience;– 1‑yr certificate in computer science or a related discipline and 7‑yr relevant experience;– a currently active professional certification or accreditation and 8‑yr relevant experience. Work Experience 2 years of experience as a Site Collection Administrator2 years of experience preparing and documenting materials for user acceptance testing2 years of experience troubleshooting forms and workflows (all types)2 years of experience using and supporting ShareGate2 years of experience with complex SharePoint projects including solutions depending on managed metadata, workflows, forms, and user interface customization2 years of experience with the development, integration, and support of Microsoft SharePoint 2016 and Microsoft 365 SharePoint Online2 years of experience applying patches/updates to SharePoint environments2 years of experience developing integrated system and technical design specifications on complex engagements2 years of experience using PowerShell to manage Farm/Application/Site Collection/Site Features2 years of experience with disaster recovery testing2 years of experience with Microsoft 365 SharePoint Online admin portal, reporting, configuration, and administrative tasks1 year experience with the Government of Alberta's Information Technology/Information Management policies, standards and guidelines2 years experience with the use of Central Administration on a SharePoint environment2 years experience with upgrading Microsoft SharePoint environments and migration of content.
