The role of an Underwriting Team Leader within Zurich Municipal is to lead, motivate and develop a team of Market Underwriters to deliver a high-quality service that surpasses expectations. You will create a team environment to successfully achieve our customer, operational and financial commitments and being a team player yourself, you will obtain/retain your own underwriting empowerment and be prepared to manage key customer relationships as needed. Your day-to-day role will see you working within and outside of your immediate team, engaging with a broad range of stakeholders across our organisation and with key external partners. What will you be doing? Lead and role model an Underwriting culture to go above and beyond for our customers, by being creative and dynamic with our thinking Maintain a culture of service excellence, striving, and exceeding our customer perceptions – using data and insights to manage operational delivery. Supporting both the Head of Market and Market Portfolio Lead to develop and implement approaches to ensure we deliver our market strategies and achieve plans Build strong and lasting relationships with stakeholders – notably across our wider Underwriting and Account Management teams. Lead the personal performance and development of a small team of direct reports in pursuit of continuous improvement in key activities and behaviours Inspire, motivate, mentor and develop individuals, including progressing authorities. Achieve outstanding performance through personal leadership style and behaviours. Maintain a detailed understanding of the metrics and the drivers of performance variances against expectations and use data to influence and advise the team strategy Managing and reporting on work states and escalating key issues as required Interpret data to determine responses to market conditions and customer demand Managing individual customer accounts as required.
