Join to apply for the Senior Accounting Associate role at T & T SupermarketReporting to the Senior Manager / Manager, Accounts Payable, the Senior Accounting Associate is responsible for handling daily accounting duties and providing administrative support for the Finance & Accounting Department, to ensure the accuracy of invoices, and related financial information are processed in compliance with the applicable tax laws, accepted accounting practices, rules, and regulations.T&T Supermarket Inc. was founded in 1993 with two stores in BC. Since then, it has expanded rapidly and is now Canada’s largest Asian supermarket chain with 33 stores across the country: 14 in BC, 7 in Alberta, 11 in Ontario, and 1 in Quebec. The Company’s continuous expansion is going to bring more new stores in the next couple of years.ResponsibilitiesOrganize invoices and supporting documents and proactively follow up with appropriate parties for informationPerform 3‑way matching and validate payment authorization per updated Commitment PolicyVerify invoices and expense reports to ensure correct amount is calculated with proper sales taxes, discounts and debits/credits appliedInput invoices and expense reports in the system with complete and accurate details using correct GL accounts consistentlyProcess payments for assigned vendors per payment terms set up in the systemAnalyze vendor accounts for accuracy and completeness, reconcile to daily receiving reports to identify discrepancies, and investigate if adjustments or accruals are required at period closePrepare vendor statements and track outgoing payments and clearance as requiredReview daily store sales records and reconcile daily store receipts to identify cash discrepancies with timely follow up with Store Cashier HeadAttend semi‑annual store inventory audits and cash countsStreamline the process and assist with internal & external audits as requiredPerform any other duties as assignedQualificationsA bachelor's degree, diploma or equivalent, or other relevant qualification in AccountingMinimum 1 year working experience in accounting or relevant areaPrevious experience in handle large transaction records is requiredComputer literate with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and WordFamiliar with Macola 10 or other accounting system will be an assetStrong organizational skills with ability to prioritize different tasks as assignedStrong analytical skills with ability to reconcile and identify discrepanciesAble to work in a fast‑paced office environment with minimum supervisionDemonstrates a keen sense of urgency and commitment to follow up and meet multiple deadlines without compromising on work qualityAble to effectively communicate in written EnglishAble to communicate in Chinese (Cantonese / Mandarin) is considered an assetBenefitsLife/AD&D insuranceExtended health/dental/vision careRetirement benefitPaid annual/sick/marriage/bereavement leaveSubsidized staff mealIn‑store staff purchase discountWork Hours5-day work week (Monday to Sunday)Safety StatementSafety continues to be T&T Supermarket’s top priority.
