In a kitchen support role, the General Helper works a variety of shifts throughout the day and acts as the fuel that keeps the kitchen running smoothly. Kitchen support workers will complete various tasks throughout the day based on their shift schedule and time of day. Remote work lifestyle and camp amenitiesAll meals and accommodations are providedTravel is provided to and from the site locations from designated locations in Winnipeg MB, Thunder Bay ON, and surrounding areasPrivate room with cable televisionAccess to Wi-FiAccess to laundry facilities and detergentsAccess to a gym and common areas Key responsibilitiesMaintaining a clean and organized workstation throughout shift, including lunchrooms, dining room, servery, ware wash area, main kitchen and storage areasRegular sweeping and mopping of all floors, including walk-in coolers and storage areasStocking of all needed food, beverage and paper/disposable supplies as requiredDisposing of all garbage, cardboard and recyclables as requiredCorrectly label, date and rotate all products put out for serviceAssisting in food production as requiredReceiving and storing of supplies (food, beverages, chemical and paper/disposables) QualificationsLarge-scale kitchen assisting in camp settings, banquet halls and/or hotels is a strong assetCurrent Food Safe certification is an assetAbility to commit to a 2 week on/2 week off rotationA team-player who is committed to providing client satisfactionAbility to prioritize multiple task demands and organize a work scheduleMust have valid government issued photo ID for travel to siteAbility to handle the following physical demands:Lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 lbsClimb ladders or stairsStand, walk, squat, kneel or sit according to task for extended periods of timePerform repetitive hand work requiring full use of both handsPerform work with arms at full lengthWork with arms above shoulder height What’s in it for you?Enjoy excellent work-life balance with a 2 week on/ 2 week off rotationAbility to expand skills in a large camp atmosphereWhereas other companies are downsizing, we are growingBe #1 on day 1 by joining an industry leader Work schedule and remunerationGeneral Helpers work on a rotational schedule of 2 weeks on/2 weeks off. Site locations are in remote settings, requiring either air travel to site, or via ground on our shuttle. You may be required to work nights, weekdays, weekends, and general holidays.
