Founded in 2020, it leads in manufacturing recycling single‑use protective equipment and now expands into broader advanced technologies.Role OverviewMechanical Engineer (Product Realization) – responsible for translating R&D concepts into manufacturable designs, bridging research, design, quality, and operations. Works in a fast‑moving, cross‑disciplinary environment.ResponsibilitiesConvert R&D concepts into manufacturable designs (DFM/DFA, GD&T, tolerance analysis); generate BOMs, drawings, and specs.Design and iterate parts, fixtures, assemblies, and test tooling; select materials and processes.Plan and execute V&V with clear acceptance criteria; analyze failures and drive corrective actions.Enable pilot builds and ramp, troubleshoot on the floor, and collaborate with suppliers on manufacturability, cost, lead time, and quality.Map workflows, map labor, equipment, material flows; design lean cells using 5S, standard work, Kanban, and change‑over reduction.Apply SPC, capability, DOE; track KPIs (yield, scrap, cycle time, OEE, DPPM) and execute continuous improvement actions.Build and maintain SOPs, work instructions, ECNs, PFMEA/DFMEA, control plans, and process flows; align with NIOSH/ISO requirements.Design workstations and fixtures that improve safety and reduce injury risk.Partner with Production, QC, Supply Chain, and R&D on process and product improvements; flex into adjacent domains (basic EE/controls, fluids/biochemistry).Skills & QualificationsBSc/Eng in Mechanical, Mechatronics or related (MASc a plus); 3‑5+ years in product development/NPI or manufacturing.Strong expertise in mechanics/materials, DFM/DFA, GD&T, tolerance analysis.Advanced SolidWorks or Fusion design skills; rigorous revision control and documentation.Experience with 5S, standard work, changeover/Kanban, cell design, PFMEA/DFMEA.Proficiency in SPC, capability, DOE, V&V, KPIs, and continuous improvement.Proficient with Minitab, Excel, Python; PLM/PDM systems; ability to create SOPs and flowcharts.Strong project management and problem‑solving; multitasking and prioritization.Excellent written and verbal communication; stakeholder presentation skills.Knowledge of safety/ergonomics and adjacent domains such as controls/EE, fluids, biochemistry.Detail‑oriented, documentation‑driven, ownership, continuous learning, bias to action.CompensationSalary: CA$70,000 – CA$110,000 per annum, based on skills and experience.Benefits: Comprehensive medical and dental coverage.Paid vacation: 3 weeks.Tuition assistance program.Company events throughout the year.About Vitacore IndustriesVitacore Industries Inc. manufactures personal protective equipment for Canadian frontline workers, using a Canadian supply chain and materials.
