Why this role is important? Nature and Scope The Oncology Senior Manager Clinical (Remote) is accountable to provide a clinical perspective and patient care expertise to ensure consistent and quality delivery of program services for the oncology business unit. The Senior Manager brings their experience in patient care delivery to support the design and daily operations of patient support programs. This includes providing clinical advice to escalations from the Reimbursement team. The Senior Manager applies their firsthand knowledge of patient care to all components on the program that touch the patient including scripting, FAQ, portal design, surveys and questionnaires. What you will do Act as subject matter expert (SME) in the oncology patient journey and contribute as an individual to a cross-functional program team. Share oncology therapeutic knowledge and expertise through training and feedback mechanisms to program team members. Stay up to date on patient care trends and treatment pathways in the oncology healthcare landscape Act as an internal consultant in the development of oncology program resources, ensuring they meet both client and patient needs. Collaborates with the Director(s) of Clinical services to improve quality of care, strengthen the financial performance of the group; and to improve patient, health care professionals satisfaction. Strong collaborator with a proven ability to work cross functionally across SHN teams, within the clinical team Act as a subject matter expert in business development opportunities Participate in various projects, committees or task forces to improve SHN services and programs. Identifies, develops and implements processes, metrics and to support and evaluate the delivery of patient services. Participates in manufacture quarterly business reviews and operational meetings, providing strategic insights on each program Participate and support clinical quality priorities such as audits, quality monitoring, non-conformance and incident management What you will need Unrestricted license to practice as a nurse in Canada BScN preferred, however, a combination of experience and education will be considered Three to five years of experience in oncology or hematology care Current successful completion of the de Souza Standardized Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Course or Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certificate equivalent preferred and/or advanced oncology-nursing credentials such as Certified Oncology Nurse (CON(C), McMaster University Oncology Nursing Certificate, Mohawk College Oncology Certificate or equivalent from and accredited educational institution preferred Knowledge of Canadian and provincial health systems including reimbursement landscapes; knowledge of Specialty Pharmacy services Previous Patient Support Program experience or acting in the role of a Drug Access Navigator is an asset Possession of excellent skills in assessment, communication, critical thinking and decision making Excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficient in computer use Excellent customer service skills Ability to demonstrate understanding of SDM Specialty Health Network policies, legal considerations and professional ethics Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English (bilingual French/English is an asset) Proven customer relationship and/or account management skills with direct client interaction Strong organizational ability to multitask and adapt to a changing, fast paced environment with multiple priorities Demonstrated commitment to the principle of quality client-centered service delivery and implementation of CQI processes Travel may be required Why work at Shoppers Drug Mart?
