Prime Management Group Inc. is pleased to be partnering with Dot Foods in the exciting search for a forward-thinking and results-driven Director of Transportation to join their Canadian leadership team and oversee the transportation operations of their Ingersoll, Ontario, Distribution Centre.


Reporting to the Distribution Centre General Manager, the highly collaborative and people-focused Director of Transportation will oversee all transportation functions, empowering managers and dispatch staff to achieve high performance while ensuring efficient, cost-effective operations that meet Dot Foods' rigorous customer service and regulatory compliance standards. This leader will recruit, hire, train, and mentor team members across garage operations, dispatch, and driver management while fostering a team-oriented work environment focused on safety and excellence. This proven leader will develop and implement effective routing strategies to control costs and improve service levels, address vendor and customer concerns, and collaborate with the HR team to implement safety protocols, manage Workers’ Compensation, and lead all training initiatives.


The results-focused Director of Transportation will spearhead continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging lean methodologies to streamline processes and eliminate waste. They will oversee the preparation and management of budgets for capital expenditures, operating costs, and payroll while tracking key performance metrics, including service levels, turnover rates, and safety statistics. p>

The successful candidate will hold a relevant post-secondary education, such as a degree, diploma, or equivalent experience gained at Dot Foods, combined with 5-7 years of proven leadership experience in transportation or logistics management. This role also requires exceptional collaboration, organizational and analytical skills, strong communication abilities, and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. p>

This position will require approximately 10-15 nights of travel per year, including cross-border travel to the United States.
