Job Summary: We seek a detail-oriented, reliable, and adaptable individual to join our team as a Logistics Specialist (12 month Contract Role). This role focuses on managing and maintaining accurate inventory levels, supporting warehouse operations, and coordinating logistics activities. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills to support data-driven decision-making, cost tracking, and efficiency improvements across logistics functions. A strong command of Excel and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving operational issues are essential. Responsibilities Assist in daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, organizing, and distributing goods. Utilize Excel and data tools to track inventory, analyze trends, and generate weekly/monthly logistics cost reports. Analyze shipping data and freight costs to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements. Monitor and report on inventory KPIs, including turnover rates, discrepancies, and accuracy metrics. Ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment, including picking, packing, and shipping of products. Support budget planning and vendor cost analysis by gathering data related to shipping, warehousing, and labor. Collaborate with team members to maintain inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and reconciliations. Operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently, while maintaining compliance with safety guidelines. Work with analysts and stakeholders to assess logistics performance metrics and drive continuous improvement. Maintain professional communication with 3PLs, carriers, and internal teams to resolve shipment or cost discrepancies. Understand transportation market dynamics (e.g., seasonal rate fluctuations) and their impact on freight cost. Monitor and manage all inbound/outbound activity for 3PL operations to ensure accuracy and timeliness. Maintain documentation and compliance related to customs, cross-border shipments, and bonded movements. Track all inventory adjustments and discrepancies; conduct root cause analysis to prevent recurrence. Collaborate with other departments on logistics-related decisions and project support. Support ongoing development of internal logistics dashboards or Power BI reports (if applicable). Other duties as required. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent (additional education or relevant certifications are a plus). Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics role is preferred. 1-2 years’ experience in a distribution, transportation and/or logistics environment is an asset. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data entry, formula creation, and report generation. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and team members. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work schedules. #J-18808-Ljbffr
