Your New Role and Team Sanctuary AI is seeking an experienced Network Administrator to join our IT team. You will be accountable for the availability, security, and performance of our network infrastructure and systems, keeping people and services reliably connected. You bring clear ownership and crisp execution, and you care about building networks that are simple, scalable, and highly available. Success Criteria Sustain 99.95% uptime across sites, cloud, and VPN connections Reduce incident response time and improve monitoring signal-to-noise ratio within the first 6 months Deliver accurate, current network diagrams, runbooks, and recovery procedures Harden configurations and maintain timely patching and vulnerability remediation Enable new projects and teams by executing changes safely, on time, and with clear stakeholder communication Network Engineering & Operations Design, implement, and maintain LAN, WAN, WLAN, VLAN, VPN, and firewall services across on-prem and cloud environments Operate Fortinet and Juniper-based infrastructure (FortiManager, Mist) Monitor performance, bandwidth, and capacity with tools such as PRTG, Zabbix, or Prometheus Troubleshoot and resolve complex connectivity issues across multi‑site and hybrid cloud environments Security & Compliance Partner with Security to implement and maintain best practices across firewalls, IDS/IPS, and SSO/MFA Conduct regular vulnerability scans and patch network and Linux systems Provide evidence and documentation to support compliance initiatives (SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI‑DSS, HIPAA as applicable) Cloud & Virtualization Support hybrid cloud networking (AWS and Azure VPCs, VNets, routing, VPN gateways) Manage and maintain virtualized environments (VMware, KVM, Proxmox) with resilience and failover in mind Collaboration & Leadership Create and maintain up‑to‑date documentation in Confluence, including diagrams, standards, and incident records Mentor junior administrators and act as a go‑to resource for networking and Linux expertise Collaborate closely with DevOps, Security, and Application teams to support business needs Participate in on‑call rotations (shared schedule with IT team) and support incident response for critical systems Required Qualifications And Experience 5+ years in a Network Administrator or similar role in production environments Strong Linux administration skills (Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL, or similar) In‑depth knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, and enterprise firewalls 5+ years managing Fortinet and/or Juniper environments Experience with network monitoring and logging (PRTG, Zabbix, Prometheus, or similar) Experience with scripting and automation (Bash, Python, Ansible) Hands‑on hybrid cloud networking with AWS and/or Azure Familiarity with identity & access protocols (LDAP, Kerberos, SAML, MFA) Preferred Qualifications Relevant certifications: CCNP, RHCSA/RHCE, CompTIA Security+, CISSP Knowledge of high availability design and disaster recovery planning Experience with container networking (Docker, Kubernetes) Previous experience in regulated industries (finance, healthcare, SaaS) Traits Calm and resourceful problem solver with strong ownership and follow‑through Clear, concise communicator who documents well and collaborates across teams Mission‑driven, curious, and motivated by continuous improvement Empathetic team player who contributes to a positive, solution‑focused culture Working at Sanctuary AI Sanctuary AI is an equal opportunity employer; employment with Sanctuary AI is governed based on skills, competence, and qualifications and will not be influenced in any way by race, color, religion, gender, national origin/ethnicity, veteran status, disability status, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, mental or physical disability, or any other legally protected status.
