The Intermediate Mechanical Engineer will play a key role in designing and developing mechanical components and systems. The role involves assisting in product development, creating detailed engineering documentation, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Design and development of mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks.
  2. Prepare 3D models, manufacturing drawings, BOMs, and engineering documentation.
  3. Support project planning.
  4. Conduct analysis of components and systems, including basic FEA.
  5. Coordinate with suppliers and participate in prototype testing and validation.
  6. Collaborate with the manufacturing team to ensure designs meet production requirements.
  7. Provide technical support to other departments as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Education: B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  2. Experience: 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, analysis, and project coordination in custom equipment or heavy machinery.
  3. Skills and Abilities:
    1. Proficiency in SolidWorks.
    2. Basic understanding of FEA and ERP/MRP systems.
    3. Experience with mechanical design, including gears, drives, and hydraulics, is an asset.
    4. Strong analytical skills and a good understanding of materials.
    5. Knowledge of DFM/DFA and GD&T is preferred.
    6. Effective communication skills for interacting with customers, suppliers, and team members.
