Overview Manager, Quality at Hammond Power Solutions. Hammond Power Solutions Inc. is a global manufacturer headquartered in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. We are seeking a Quality Manager to lead quality systems and drive continuous improvement across the organization. Responsibilities Plan, organize, develop, monitor and control quality systems activities. Verify the application of the quality policy and procedures in the different areas of the company. Train team members in the application of management and quality systems. Plan, organize, develop and control quality inspection procedures. Plan, organize, develop and coordinate internal audits, follow up on observations, nonconformities, and opportunities for improvement. Address findings from external quality audits and ensure corrective actions are effective. Prepare technical analyses of products for problem solving. Carry out supplier audits as required and in coordination with Supplier Quality and other audits on third parties. Develop and monitor the quality department's improvement and inspection plans. Apply quality control tools and instruments to achieve planned results. Analyze KPI data to identify and define new or modified strategies to meet objectives. Prepare management review data summaries and schedule management reviews. Maintain and update management system documentation and support corrective/preventive actions or new standards. Follow up on quality surveys from customers to identify opportunities for improvement. Interact with Sales and customers for quality-related requests and audits. Interact with suppliers for quality-related requests and conduct supplier audits as required. Monitor corrective actions regarding non-conforming materials and applicable FPRs (feedback/production reports). Maintain up-to-date quality portals (NMRs, FPRs, ODCs) and issue certificates of conformity as needed. Monitor external customer portals to provide required information (PPAP, deviations, as applicable). Plan, organize, develop, monitor and control calibration systems for monitoring and measuring resources. Ensure external calibration is properly certified when required. Coordinate the implementation of new products from a quality perspective and participate in continuous improvement and global standardization projects. Qualifications and Requirements A college diploma or bachelor’s degree in quality management or equivalent. 6-9 years of experience in a quality role in a manufacturing environment. ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor Certification or equivalent knowledge. Knowledge related to the electrical industry; problem-solving methodologies; and engagement of staff to achieve quality objectives. Certifications Required: ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor Certification Preferred: UL/CSA File Knowledge, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, ISO 14001 Lead Auditor, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor, ASQ certifications (CQA, CQE, CMQ/OE) Specialized Knowledge Calibration of monitoring and measuring resources Advanced Microsoft Office and Microsoft Dynamics D365 Familiarity with design and manufacturing processes Experience with ISO 9001/27001/14001 and with registrars and regulatory agencies (UL, CSA, ABS) Knowledge of APQP and automotive quality systems Additional Skills Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff, suppliers, customers, registrars and regulatory agencies Analytical strength to determine outcomes from data We are Great Place to Work Certified.
