Put your knowledge and experience to meaningful use in an environment where collaboration and growth are encouraged.We are seeking an experienced, accomplished and self-motivated Senior Electrical Engineer with project management experience to work in the Electrical group based out of either our Barrie, Collingwood or Guelph office.The Senior Electrical Engineer – Buildings will have experience of design of electrical power distribution, standby power, and lighting systems in Buildings in a consulting environment. An understanding of fire alarms, IT and communications, and security systems is desirable. In addition, the successful candidate will have experience with commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities, particularly within multi-disciplinary design teams.The Senior Electrical Engineer is responsible for creating and implementing processes and designs using computer-aided design (CAD) software, as well as assisting Group Leaders and Managers with business development, providing technical direction and mentoring junior staff. In addition, the Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for planning and overseeing projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and within budget.Key Responsibilities:Perform engineering calculations using relevant software and engineering design standardsPrepare, or manage others in the preparation of, detailed design drawings using AutoCAD or Revit software, adhering to company standards and templatesPrepare electrical specifications adhering to company standards, including required research to ensure equipment specifications are up to datePreliminary reviews and construction progressConduct site visits as requiredWhen required, prepare project proposals, including detailed description and understanding of scope of work, budget fees, project schedule, and expectations of deliverables by all partiesComplete project management tasks including coordination with other disciplines, clients, document control, budgets, timelines, invoicing and mitigating risksKey Position Requirements:Degree in Electrical EngineeringP.Eng. in the Province of OntarioMinimum of 10-15 years of relevant experienceWorking knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel as well as AutoCADUnderstanding of the Ontario Building Code and Ontario Electrical safety CodeStrong communication and technical writing skillsExperience with business development and project management is an assetDemonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and work independently under minimal supervisionValid driver’s license and reliable transportationHow to ApplyClick the “Apply Now” button below and follow the instructions to create your account.
