We know who we are, and we’re confident in our approach—but we don’t take ourselves too seriously.Your TeamReporting to the Manager, Business Partnering, the Finance Business Partner provides financial insights and strategic support to operational leaders across the organization. The position is responsible for financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting to ensure alignment with organizational goals and business initiatives. It also involves evaluating investment opportunities, assessing their financial impact, and contributing to strategic initiatives such as network expansions and cost-saving measures. Additionally, the role requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders to enhance financial systems and reporting processes, ensuring alignment with best practices and compliance standards.This role is based on-site at our Edmonton (YEG) office.The Day In The LifeThe duties of the Financial Business Partner include:Develop and maintain financial models to support expense, revenue, and cash flow forecasting.Provide forecasts that guide business decisions and adapt to changes in the industry.Lead the preparation of annual budgets and ongoing forecasts, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.Analyze variances between actual results and budgets, identifying key drivers and working with stakeholders to optimize spending.Conduct detailed reviews of expenses and general ledger (GL) accounts to ensure accuracy, proper classification, and compliance with accounting policies.Preparation and/or review of journal entries and other accounting standards and treatments.Prepare comprehensive financial reports and dashboards for senior leadership, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities.Design and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to track organizational performance against strategic goals.Collaborate with operational leaders to align financial strategies with business initiatives.Act as a trusted advisor, delivering actionable insights that enhance decision-making and operational efficiency.Provide financial analysis for strategic projects such as network expansions, fleet management, and cost-saving initiatives.Evaluate investment opportunities and assess their financial impact on business performance.Assess and improve financial workflows and systems to enhance accuracy and efficiency.Drive the adoption of best practices in financial reporting and analysis across the organization.Collaborate with finance teams to provide accounting review, guidance, and support while working with other business areas to align financial strategies with organizational initiatives.Serve as a financial liaison to provide insights into key projects and business decisions.Perform in-depth analyses on emerging business needs, industry trends, and operational challenges.Support decision-making by delivering timely and actionable recommendations to senior leadership.Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.What You Bring To The RoleThe preferred candidate should exemplify Flair's core values of honesty, efficiency, accountability, and respect while demonstrating success in previous roles. Additionally, we are seeking individuals who possess:Education:Bachelor's degree in business, finance, economics, or a related area.CPA designation or actively working towards it would be an asset, but is not required.Experience:Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible financial experience, preferably in a medium to large organization.A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a role involving analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, particularly in managing complex financial analyses.Previous experience in the airline industry would be considered an asset.Skills & Abilities:Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess financial data and provide strategic insights.Ability to build and maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to present financial information in a clear and concise manner to non-financial leaders.Proficiency in financial modelling, forecasting, and reporting tools, including advanced Excel skills.Ability to adapt to changing business needs and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify anomalies and areas for improvement.Ability to work independently and take initiative, while also being a team player in cross-functional collaborations.High level of proficiency in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership.Requirements:Clear criminal record check and satisfactory employment references.Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without restriction.Why You\'ll Love Working HereAt Flair, we prioritize our teams by cultivating a supportive, collaborative work environment filled with opportunities for growth.
